heartwashing, heart-washed—emotionally steered to accept approved narratives without question, lest they be labelled insensitive, offensive, or dangerous.
'Correctspeak' - means language that is manipulated to give rise to feelings of guilt and atonement in order to control social values, personal and public communication, and political consciousness. Correctspeak is distinguished from Orwell’s Newspeak that is state controlled language, with restricted grammar and limited vocabulary, designed to limit freedom of thought.
